Beginner Drills for Basketball – Basketball Shooting Drills – Jumping Drill

Drill designed to work on the basketball shooting fundamentals, and to develop a smooth consistent basketball shooting form for the lower body and upward movement.

1. Have players jump up and down without a ball.

2. Have them concentrate on good balance, and jumping straight upwards. ‘

3. Start with a movement upward that ends with them on their toes as in a free throw, then progress to them jumping higher.

4. They should be always focusing on moving straight upwards and having good balance.

5. Have them close their eyes and get the feel of the motion.
